Welcome to 2025 Cannon Music Camp! 

Thank you for your interest in Cannon Music Camp! We hope to see you this summer on the campus of Appalachian State University.

To begin your camp application, click the “Register Now” button above. You will need the following code: 25Cannon

  • New registrants will be prompted to create an Iris Registration account. Please record your email/username and password in a secure location (and share it with any family members who should have access to make payments or edits). 
  • A parent or guardian of the camper should complete the application or be present with the student as it is completed.
  • A $150 payment is due along with the form submission.

The camp price per student is $2,950. There are several options for payment plans and scholarships.

Scholarships

To apply for a scholarship or - new for 2024! - an increase to an existing scholarship offer, visit cannon.appstate.edu/scholarships.

  • A partial scholarship cannot be applied toward the initial $150 deposit.
  • Scholarship offers are not automatically applied to your balance. About 1-2 weeks after the entire registration process (shown at cannon.appstate.edu/apply) has been completed and the student is accepted to camp, staff will apply the confirmed scholarship as a discount on your account.
  • Campers expecting a partial scholarship are encouraged to make the deposit and complete registration but are welcome to wait to make additional payments until their Cannon scholarship has been applied.

How to View and Pay Your Balance Online

Registrants can log into their registration account at any time to review their balance or to make a payment.

To make a payment online AFTER you have already registered and paid the deposit:

  1. Click the “Register Now” link above and log in to your account. If asked for a code to access the camp registration, enter 25Cannon. Once logged in, you will see your existing order (listed as 25R Cannon Music Camp).
  2. Click the “Make a Payment” button next to 25R Cannon Music Camp.
  3. Click “Continue to Checkout.”

Select the payment amount you wish to make at this time. The minimum payment through the online portal is $150. For help with the Iris form and payment portal, or to make a payment over the phone, please contact Kristina at (828) 262-6524 / pughkf@appstate.edu.

Accounts must be paid in full by June 1. See the schedule and deadlines on the next tab.

How to Pay by Check

  • If you choose to pay by check, please indicate on the payment page. Once your check has been received, your registration account will reflect the new balance. The registration will not be complete until the first check is processed.
  • Checks or money orders should be payable to Appalachian State University. Please include "Cannon Music Camp" and the camper's name on the check, and ensure each check has paperwork with it indicating who the payment is for and that it is for Cannon Music Camp tuition.

Payment, Cancellation, and Refund Timelines

Payment Timeline

  • At registration: $150 is due to complete registration ($100 deposit + $50 non-refundable application fee).
  • March 1: A second payment of any amount is due by March 1 (for campers who have applied prior to February 1). You are welcome to make payments on a schedule that makes sense for you. 
  • April 1: It is recommended to have paid at least 50% of your portion of the bill (not counting Cannon scholarships) by April 1.
  • June 1: All accounts must be paid in full. After June 1, accounts not paid in full will receive a partial refund and the camper will be removed from this year’s camp registration. 
  • Registrations created after June 1 must be paid in full to complete registration and are not eligible for refunds. Campers wishing to register after June 1 should first contact the camp office to determine if space remains in camp housing. 
  • June 21: Camp begins.

Cancellation and Refund Timeline

  • Cancellations before April 1 will receive a refund minus $50.
  • Cancellations between April 1 and May 1 will receive a refund minus $150.
  • Cancellations between May 1 and June 1 will receive a very reduced refund of tuition only. The other costs per student (including room and board) and the initial $150 will be subtracted from any refund issued during this period. 
  • No refunds will be issued after June 1.
  • Camp begins on June 21.

Cancellations are only accepted by email or letter (not by phone). For cancellations, write to cannonmusiccamp@appstate.edu.

Optional Paid Electives

While campers can fill their schedule with activities already included in the cost of camp, the camp will also offer optional Paid Electives: Piano Class ($75), Alexander Technique ($75), and Additional Private Lessons ($75-150). Details are available on our website.

We will be in touch in June to offer elective sign-up options to registered campers! Payment for fee-based electives will be due during the first week of camp (and cannot be accepted before then). From June 23-27, the same Iris form you have used to register will re-open with a convenient new page to select and pay for any paid electives.

Paid electives will be a separate charge not covered by scholarships or camp tuition, so families may wish to discuss these options with the camper and budget ahead of time for any paid electives.
